FSPCA Preventive Controls for Human Food Blended Course Training Workshops
March 2018

The Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board (WMMB) announces two regional workshops entitled "Preventive Controls Qualified Individual Training". The new FDA regulation Current Good Manufacturing Practice, Hazard Analysis, and Risk-based Preventive Controls for Human Food has the next compliance date of September 18, 2017 for any company with less than 500 FTE employees. The compliance date for very small companies with less than $1 million in annual sales is September 17, 2018. This workshop will focus on training to meet the "preventive controls qualified individual" requirement under Subpart C – Hazard Analysis and Risk-based Preventive Controls (§ 117.126 Food safety plan). The PCQI is responsible for oversight of the written food safety plan at their respective dairy processing facility.

The Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) has developed a 2 Part FSPCA PREVENTIVE CONTROLS FOR HUMAN FOOD BLENDED COURSE training course that meets the FDA approved curriculum guidelines. Part 1 involves the individual completing a 16 chapter course via the internet. Part 2 involves a 1 day instructor led in-person workshop that covers review of study materials and group exercises.

Successful completion of Part 1 and Part 2 provides the attendee with a Certificate of Training. This certificate provides evidence that the individual meets the training requirement of the "preventive controls qualified individual."

These workshops will be strictly dairy industry based, with all exercise materials focusing on dairy products. These working exercises are designed to provide practical details covering all the required components of the written food safety plan mandated within the Preventive Controls for Human Food (PCHF) rule.
