    The Southwestern Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association announces their 10th Annual Young Dairy Producer Educational $2,000 Scholarship to encourage young dairy producers to continue in the dairy industry and help maintain the supply of milk to area cheese plants.     Wisconsin Cheese Scores December Publicity Hits

    As a result of WMMB food editor visits in October, Wisconsin Cheese scored big during the holidays with placements in Parade and Food & Wine magazines. Parade's December gift guide, which featured a Bella Vitano gift basket from Sartori, generated 81 million consumer impressions. Carr Valley's Caso Bollo was selected as one of Food & Wine's favorite cheeses for 2011– that magazine article generated more than 1.5 million consumer impressions.

    Macaroni & Cheese Blog is Back

    The Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board has invited 30 of the country’s top food bloggers to participate in the third annual 30 Days, 30 Ways with Macaroni and Cheese blogger program, which relaunches today in celebration of National Cheese Lover's Day. This blogger site will feature a new recipe each day for 30 days. Recipes will range from simple to sophisticated, stovetop to oven-baked and will incorporate more than 25 different Wisconsin Cheeses throughout the month.

    Chocolate Milk Sponsors Badger State Wrestling

    Through the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board, chocolate milk is a new sponsor with Badger State Wresting. The BSW website, which is devoted to promoting the sport of amateur wrestling at all levels, now reflects chocolate milk messages in numerous locations throughout the site. As an added bonus, Shane Sparks, the voice of Badger State Wrestling, promotes milk at all live events that he covers.

    Milk Advertising Running During January

    Wisconsin dairy farmer-sponsored radio advertising for white milk resumed statewide in January following a December hiatus, when the holiday radio dairy spots were featured. The 60-second milk spots, "Choose Smart, Choose Natural, Choose Milk," can be heard throughout Wisconsin on 41 stations from January 9 through the end of the month.

    WMMB Continues Support of Wisconsin 4-H

    For many years, WMMB has supported 4-H June Dairy Month promotions by providing all participating clubs with catalog gift certificates and a bonus certificate for each county's top club. Our support continues but, instead of certificates, clubs which participated in the Dairy Promotion Contest this year will receive a shipment of merchandise from WMMB's current America's Dairyland promotional catalog. Each shipment will have the same dollar value as the gift certificates previously issued.

    Jump With Jill Comes to Wisconsin Schools

    Rockstar Nutritionist Jump with Jill will perform live at eight Wisconsin Elementary schools the week of December 12 to teach students about health and nutrition in a fun and interactive rock 'n roll performance. The appearances are sponsored by the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board and the Dairy Farm Families of Wisconsin through the Fuel Up to Play 60 program.     Wisconsin Packer Fan Wins National Photo Contest

    Being an avid Packer fan paid off big time for one young Wisconsin dairy producer. This past summer, Matt Diederichs of Fond du Lac entered a national Show Your Pride photo contest open to all U.S. dairy producers. Matt's winning photograph netted him a visit to his farm by Green Bay Packer Alum Ahman Green on November 29.
