Fuel Up to Play 60


4th - 10th Grade

Fuel Up To Play 60 is an in-school program targeting grades 4-10 developed in partnership between Wisconsin Dairy Council, National Dairy Council and the National Football League to tackle sedentary lifestyles and poor nutrition.

Fuel Up To Play 60 is designed to engage and empower youth to get 60 minutes of physical activity each day and "Fuel Up" with healthy foods including low-fat and fat-free dairy, whole grains, and fruits and vegetables.

Fuel Up To Play 60 will provide youth with the tools and resources needed to take an active role in improving their personal health and school environment, and to help youth develop a lifetime of healthy habits.

A Farm of Many Colors


K-1st Grade

A new story book and classroom presentation written especially for kindergarten and first grade students to learn about healthy foods produced on Wisconsin farms.
Ask for a school visit.


Mooing, Milking and Munching


2nd Grade

Listening to an age-appropriate story book, students will experience a day on the farm and discover the importance of foods made from milk to build strong bones and teeth.
Ask for a school visit.

1st-5th Grade; 6th-8th Grade

"You are what you drink" — a simple, direct message reminding students of the positive benefits of milk consumption and the role milk can play in helping them be runners, swimmers or anything else they aspire to be. Combine learning and fun with these colorful activity sheets, designed for children grades 1-5. For students grades 6-8, check out our "Ideas for Teachers" sheet full of fun assignment ideas.

Growing a Healthy Wisconsin


4th Grade

This newly updated and interactive lesson available for classroom presentations using whiteboard technology highlights the impact of agriculture in Wisconsin and discusses 16 foods produced in Wisconsin. Rethink Your Drink


Middle School

Rethink Your Drink is a classroom lesson using SMART technology to provide student awareness of beverage choices and nutritional factors they need to consider before making a beverage selection. Students will gain awareness of total sugar content from natural and added sources and key nutrient concerns in beverages by reading food labels and making informed decisions about choosing healthy beverages.
 
The lesson plan consists of one 45-50 minute SMART lesson which includes a hands-on or group beverage station activity.

Sports Nutrition Quiz

Every coach and athlete should know how proper nutrition can affect workouts and enhance performance. Learn more about the correct timing and fuel sources an athlete needs before, during and after a workout. This quiz will cover the general concepts of sports nutrition to maximize an athlete's performance.
